MANILA - A Congressional bicameral conference approved on Monday the final version of a law that will grant additional maternity leave benefits to parents.
The Expanded Maternity Bill, once signed into law by President Rodrigo Duterte, would provide 105 days of paid maternity leave credits to all working mothers, with 7 days transferable to fathers.
Meanwhile, an additional 15 days will be granted to single mothers. Under the measure, which applies to all instance of pregnancies, removing the 4-pregnancy cap.
The bicam-approved version of the measure will be submitted to the Senate and House of Representatives for ratification. It will be submitted next to the President who is expected to sign it into law.
